yes ! you can play cs without using lan cable , just follow these steps below-

for this you have to make a network, to which the other users can connect to play multiplayer counterstrike.

first dont forget to switch on your wifi of your laptop........(NO internet connection is needed)

1.click on start menu.

2.click on control panel.

3. then click on network and internet.

4. click on network and sharing centre.

here you find a tab,change your networking setting

5. click on setup a new connection or network

setup a connection using , setup a wireless adhoc

6. for this click on setup a wireless adhoc

7. click next and then another next.

8.type your network name, it may be anything 

example-counter strike

9.leave the security type as WPA-2 personal.

10.type a security key. it may be anything with not less than 8 characters.

it is like a password which the other users should type to connect to you computer to play cs

11.dont forget to click on save this network below security key tab.

otherwise your network will be deleted after a single use.

12.click next... now your network will be setup.

MOST IMPORTANT STEP

13. connect your network to any of your frieands laptop or any other laptop.

your network will be showing on your wifi network list.. saying waiting for user.

once you will connect this network to other laptop.

14. again click on control panel.

15.then click on network and internet.

16. click on network and sharing centre.

here view your active network is showing your new network that you setup.

17.click on wireless network connection of that network.

18.click on properties.

19.click on sharing.

20 .tick both the tabs on sharing

21.click on setting

22. click on FTP server.

23. Click OK.

24.turn off your fire-wall

25.restart your laptop

note- dont connect your laptop to other network or internet other than your newly made counter strike network. otherwise u will not able to play cs multiplayer

26. start counter strike of the version that you have may be coundition zero or counter strike 1.6.

27. click on new game .

28. click on any map that you want to play.

29.click start.

your friends to which you want to play the game need to connect to your network first.

thent to start cs in to thier laptop.

then need to click on find server, then click on LAN tab. press refresh , here your map should be seen to them.. click on start and ENJOY!
